Three people were arrested in Famagusta district on Wednesday suspected of having links to FETO (Fethullah Terrorist Organisation).
A policeman, his wife and another man were remanded in custody prior to a court hearing in Famagusta. They face charges of being in possession of propaganda material related to a terrorist organisation.
According to ‘Yeni Duzen’ a number of books, DVDs, documents and mobile phones have been seized and sent to the police forensic department.
A failed coup attempt which took place in Turkey last year was believed to have been masterminded by Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen. Turkey has demanded his extradition from the US where he now lives.
Since then, 200 TRNC police officers have been under investigation for suspected links to FETO.
