Three Turkish Ministers visit to TRNC on Saturday

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bashir Atalay, the Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz and Forestry and Water Affairs Minister Veysel Eroglu, are to visit the TRNC tomorrow.

President Eroglu, General Assembly leader Sibel Siber and Prime Minister Yorgancioglu will be holding meetings with the Turkish officials who will take part in a number of meetings and ceremonies.

Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said yesterday that he would be discussing an energy plan for the whole of Cyprus with the TRNC government during his visit to the North.

Earlier this week three Turkish ships conducted further seismic surveys of south-west Cyprus. South Cyprus has protested that this was another breach of their exclusive economic zone (EEZ).

Turkey contests the rights of the South, which it does not recognise, to establish any EEZ’s or to exploit natural resources which belong to the whole island, prior to a total settlement of the Cyprus problem.
