Tourism ministry continues push to promote North Cyprus

Minister of Tourism and Environment Fikri Ataoglu, has said that low interest loans to the tourism sector will increase designated hotel bed capacity in the TRNC.

Speaking during a television broadcast, Ataoglu said that promotional activities are taking place, not only in Turkey, but in the UK, Azerbaijan and Iran. Similar promotions are also planned for Germany.

Referring to the development of health tourism in North Cyprus, the minister said that the TRNC had become the 54th member of the World Health Tourism Council.

Moreover, in an exclusive interview with Turkish Cypriot daily ‘Diyalog’ Ataoglu said that they expect the number of tourists to the TRNC to reach to 1.5 million, pointing to the remarkable increase observed in the number of the Israeli tourists visiting Turkey.

Ataoglu further noted that the casinos operating in the north will not be affected by the opening of casinos in South Cyprus.
