The TRNC government has finally taken action and stopped the illegal construction of houses in the Karpaz area.
These developments were being constructed without permission, in the Karpaz Golden beach area. A number of environmental organisations have been petitioning the government for months to put a stop to them.
The Ministry of Tourism and the Environment has now acted. Teams from the Ministry were out in the area yesterday. They investigated 11 building companies and sealed 100 bungalows, effectively stopping further work on them.
