A motorist has died following a traffic accident in Tatlısu yesterday evening, Yeniduzen reports.
The accident happened near Davlos Market at around 5.45 pm when 41-year-old Hüseyin Palu was driving home from Tatlısu towards Geçitkale. While navigating a curve, he lost control of his vehicle and crossed into the opposite lane, resulting in a head-on collision with a vehicle driven by 49-year-old Christoforou Christoforos, who was coming from the opposite direction.
As a result of the accident, Hüseyin Palu was taken to Famagusta State Hospital, where, despite all efforts by medical staff, he could not be saved.
Christoforou Christoforos, along with passengers Ekaterina Tsara (39) and Naomi Tsara (11), who were in the same vehicle, were treated at Famagusta State Hospital and later discharged.
The police investigation is ongoing.
