TRNC aims to increase tourism by 20%

Minister for Tourism Faiz Sucuoglu has said that they aim to increase earnings from tourism in 2016, by 20%, a sum of 800 million TL.

Sucuoglu said that they have promoted North Cyprus in a very positive way. The minister pointed out that it is the very first time that the TRNC government has had a state policy on tourism.

He added that North Cyprus will participate in the ‘World Travel Market’ at the ExCel centre in London in November with 32 companies. He explained that their aim is to emphasise the human factor, and they will send a group of 8-10 people who will appear in Turkish Cypriot national costumes at the fair.

He stressed that they will run an extended tourism campaign aimed at the British market. They also plan to have more advertisements in London and across the rest of the UK, he noted.
