A protocol has been signed with Turkey for the mutual recognition of driving licences.
TRNC citizens will now be able to change their TRNC driving licences to Turkish driving licences with the protocol coming into force.
The protocol was signed between the Minister of Public Works and Communications Tolga Atakan and the Turkish Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu in Ankara.
Turkish citizens working or studying in the TRNC will also be able to change their existing driving licences with TRNC licences.
The two ministers held a meeting before the signing ceremony. Minister Atakan presented the Turkish Interior Minister with a TRNC driving licence at the end of the protocol signing ceremony.
