The TRNC government needs 150 million TL by the end of the year to meet its budget deficit, ‘Halkin Sesi’ reports.
Citing reliable sources, the paper writes that when Prime Minister Ozkan Yorgancioglu and his delegation visited Ankara last Tuesday, he discussed the financial shortfall, along with the Cyprus problem with Turkish officials, asking them for help.
However, it is reported that Ankara has turned down his request. Currently the government is in a very difficult position as it needs money to pay former employees of Cyprus Airport Services and to pay off its debts to the agricultural and stockbreeding sectors.
