TRNC authorities accused of hindering FETO investigations

The leader of Turkey’s Nationalist Democracy Party (UDP) Buray Buskuvutcu has accused the TRNC authorities of putting obstacles in the way of taking legal procedures and launching investigations into alleged FETO supporters in the TRNC.

He said that according to TRNC laws, FETO [the organisation associated with Fethullah Gulen – pictured above] is a “terrorist organisation” and the government is obstructing the legal processes used to investigate those who are suspected of having links with FETO.

Referring to the head of the Religious Affairs Department Talip Atalay, who was accused of being involved with FETO but later on was released by the Turkish authorities, he said he did not understand why President Akinci was refusing to remove Atalay from office.
