TRNC declares 3 days mourning over Gaza bombings

The TRNC has followed in the footsteps of Turkey and announced three days of national mourning for the hundreds of Palestinians who have been killed in the Gaza Strip since Israel intensified its attacks on the region, ‘World Bulletin’ reports.

The TRNC Prime Minister’s office on Tuesday released a statement sayings that all flags on official buildings will be flown at half-mast until Thursday, 24th July.

The TRNC, which is host to many Palestinian students studying in its universities, this week saw a number of protests condemning the Israeli onslaught on Gaza.

Almost 650 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have been killed since Israel commenced its air, ground and sea offensive against the blockaded Gaza Strip on 7th July.

Around a third of those killed have been children, as Israeli war planes bomb indiscriminately in heavily population residential areas.
