Despite all embargoes enforced against the TRNC, the TRNC people have progressed through their many efforts, Minister of Economy and Energy Sunat Atun has said.
“The TRNC is developing economically with the strength it obtains from motherland Turkey. As the TRNC moves forward economically its political status is widening globally”, he added.
Minister Atun attended and delivered a speech at the extraordinary congress of the Turkish Tradesmen and Artisans’ Union of Cooperatives (TESKOMB) in the Manavgat district of Antalya province in Turkey.
“We always support peace. At a time when the negotiations process has intensified severe statements are coming from South Cyprus and Greece. The Greek Foreign Minister last week said that a solution could not happen if Turkey’s guarantees continued in Cyprus. And I am asking how this agreement will happen without the guarantee of my motherland Turkey?” Atun said.
Meanwhile, a protocol was signed between Turkey and the TRNC with the aim of developing cooperation between the craftsman’s cooperatives of the two countries.
The protocol was signed by Minister Atun and the President of the TESKOMB Abdülkadir Akgül.
