The Kalecik power plant had a technical break down last night which left half the country without electricity.
The remaining power plant at Teknecik is slowly providing more supply and currently some of the affected parts have been restored.
One of the effects of the power cuts was when the power when out at the students’ quarters in Gonyeli last night, candles were lit to provide light.
However, student Ekin Arca then went shopping, leaving the lit candles in his room. This resulted in a fire that damaged most of his possessions.
