The TRNC lacks the know-how and infrastructure to manage the water project, Minister of the Environment Hamit Bakirci, has told ‘Kibris Postasi’.
Saying that he wishes it were otherwise and not intending to offend the state authorities, he said that neither the state nor the local authorities had the knowledge or infrastucture to mange the distribution and charging for the water supply from Turkey.
Bakirci’s statement has led to speculation that deals may already be in place with private Turkish companies.
