Mustafa Asik is the proud owner of a café in the Bogazkoy region of Kyrenia. He named his café Noah’s Ark and has been running it for three years now.
Imagine his surprise when he was told by the local authorities that he had to change the name of his café because the same name had been previously given to a five star hotel in the Bafra region.
Mr Asik says that he has had a working permit every year since 2010 for Noah’s Ark and having made investments in the café, will not give up the name without fight. He also contests the authorities’ claim that he signed a document stating that he would be changing the name.
Mr Asik has now taken the matter to court to prove that he is the legal owner of Noah’s Ark.
