TRNC Health Minister Ahmet Gulle, met with Turkey’s Health Minister Mehmet Muezzinoglu in Ankara on Wednesday. They discussed ways of solving the problems of North Cyprus patients sent to Turkey for treatment and the issue of cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking to the BRT, Gulle pointed out that Turkey has much experience on the subject of health and health systems and that the TRNC is benefiting from this.
Stating that they want to create a unique health system which addresses the needs of the TRNC by considering the infrastructural conditions of the country, Gulle said that discussions with Muezzinoglu focused on cooperation for the establishment of a general health insurance scheme.
Gulle will be also signing a health protocol with Ankara’s Haccettepe University for cooperation on organ and cell transplants.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Hakan Dincyurek who is also in Ankara, met with the Turkish Minister for Environment and Urban Planning Idris Gulluce.
