A man named Jires Funda flew from Ercan to Turkey on February 14th only to be detained by immigration when he landed and found to be travelling with a false Belgian passport. He was deported back to the TRNC yesterday.
Here, he has been charged with possession of fake documents and impersonating somebody else. Nicosia High Court ordered that he be detained for 2 days while police conclude their investigations.
Mr Funda is a Congolese student at Girne American University and managed to fly out from Ercan using a passport in the name of Banda.
