Turkey Opens First Consulate General’s Office in Famagusta

The Turkish Embassy in North Nicosia has announced the opening of the first Turkish Consulate General’s office in Famagusta.

Prime Minister Ersin Tatar met with Turkish Ambassador to North Nicosia Ali Murat Basceri and also with the newly appointed first undersecretary Ozlem Demir and newly appointed Consulate General in Famagusta, Kasim Kaban at the prime ministry.

According to information acquired by the prime minister’s office, Tatar wished Demir and Kaban good luck in their new duties. Tatar further added that “the opening of a consulate general in the Famagusta region would provide services not only to the population in the region but also to the students coming from Turkey to study at DAU university”.

Ambassador Basceri stressed the importance of opening the consulate general in Famagusta and said that this would serve the people who live in Famagusta and Yeni Iskele area.
