Following the transfer of water from Turkey to North Cyprus, the TRNC government has signed an agreement with the mainland that Turkey will provide North Cyprus with electricity via undersea cable.
The agreement says that undersea cable will be laid between Anamour in the Mersin district and Kyrenia district.
KIB-TEK and the Turkish Electricity Authority (TEIAS) will carry out the project. TEIAS will invite international tenders from Turkey, Italy, the UK and France, to carry out the work, to provide and lay the cable underwater.
