Turkey’s aid bureau makes PR move

The Turkish Republic Aid Committee has changed its name to the Development and Financial Cooperation Bureau.

According to Kibris Postasi, a sign with the new name was attached the bureau’s building in Nicosia.

The paper notes that an agreement to change the name was reached during President Mustafa Akinci’s recent visit to Turkey when he met with Turkish deputy Prime Minister, Responsible for Cyprus Affairs, Tugrul Turkes.

Kibris Postasi writes that the name was changed in order to improve Turkey’s image with regard to its aid to the Turkish Cypriots.
