Turkey saw a torrid start to Monday morning, in reaction to the continuing widespread protests.
The Istanbul Stock Exchange (Borsa) index opened down 6.43% and has not improved since.
Similarly the Turkish lira weakened sharply against the dollar, down to 1.89 from Friday’s close of 1.86.
Yields on Turkey’s benchmark 10 year bonds are now up to 7.12 % from a Friday close of 6.84%.
