Taxi drivers at Larnaca Airport have complained of unfair competition from taxi drivers as well as employees of hotels and casinos from North Cyprus who arrange to pick up tourists from the airport to take them across the Green Line.

Yesterday, Nicosia district court fined a Turkish Cypriot €250 who picked up three clients from Larnaca Airport to take them to Kyrenia through the Metehan checkpoint for €80.

The newspaper said that after yesterday’s decision, traffic police will step up checks and report offenders.
