Turkish Cypriots are becoming poorer every day and are forced to borrow money which they struggle to repay, Cemal Ozyigit, the chairman of the Social Democracy Party (TDP) has said.
Citing figures from the Central Bank, Ozyigit stated that personal loans amounted to 3.5 billion TL last December but have increased to 3.6 billion TL during the first five months of 2016. This is an increase of 2.44%, he said.
