Turkish electricity project needs feasibility study: CTP

The Republican Turkish Party (CTP) issued a written statement in response to the recent statements made by Minister of Economy and Energy Sunat Atun regarding the launch of the project to transfer electricity from Turkey to the TRNC via undersea cable by the end of this year.

In the statement, the CTP said that the party would support the project with conditions.

These are that the project be subject to a comprehensive feasibility study. The party would support the project if the agreement with Turkey guaranteed the provision of cheaper electricity to consumers.

Further that the agreement will bring solutions to the problems in the energy sector and not compound them.
