Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu, who was attending meetings with President Mustafa Akinci and party political leaders in North Cyprus, paid a visit to the fenced-off town of Maraş/Varosha following his meetings with Turkish Cypriot officials.
TRNC Foreign Minister Kudret Ozersay accompanied Cavusoglu and briefed him on plans for the ghost town.
Reportedly, this is the first time FM Cavusoglu has visited Maraş. The area has been already visited by Turkish Tourism Minister Nuri Ersoy, Turkish Justice Minister Abdulhamit Gul and Turkish Defence Minister Hulusi Akar.
