Two people were arrested in Famagusta during an operation called “White Page” conducted by the Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention teams, Yeniduzen reports.
According to a statement from the Police Press Office, during a search of the hotel room and apartment where M.D. (38-year-old man) and M.Ş. (27-year-old woman) were staying, around 400 grams of synthetic cannabinoid-infused papers*, five burnt hand-rolled cigarettes containing a mix of tobacco and drugs, and scissors with drug residue were found and taken as evidence.
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
*Synthetic cannabinoid-infused papers are sheets of paper that have been treated with synthetic cannabinoids, which are man-made chemicals designed to mimic the effects of THC, the active compound in cannabis. These papers are often cut into smaller pieces and used for smoking or vaping, much like traditional cannabis products. However, synthetic cannabinoids can be much more potent and dangerous than natural cannabis, leading to unpredictable and potentially harmful effects. [Ed.]
