Following the threat of expulsion from the UBP, the eight party rebels are already planning ahead.
In a television interview yesterday, one of their number Hasan Tacoy, pictured above, outlined their intentions.
He said that the group will form a new party, probably called the Free Thinking Party.
They will be a liberal party and hope to form a coalition with the DP headed up by Serdar Denktash.
