UK Defence Secretary visits Cyprus

British Defence Secretary Michael Fallon paid an unscheduled visit to Cyprus and met with President Anastasiades on Saturday morning. Fallon briefed the president about ongoing British counter-terrorism operations.

The two men also discussed the possible opportunities for broader cooperation between Cyprus and the UK on security and dealing with other potential threats.

Anastasiades also briefed the British Defence Secretary on the latest developments in the Cyprus negotiations.
