President Mustafa Akıncı will receive the UN Secretary-General’s Special Adviser to Cyprus Jane Holl Lute at 11am on Saturday.
Mrs. Lute, who arrived in Cyprus on Friday in order to make preparations before the tripartite meeting between the two Cypriot community leaders and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on 25 November in Berlin, will meet with Greek Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades after her meeting with President Akinci. Mrs. Lute will meet with President Anastasiades at 6.30pm on Saturday evening.
The UNSG’s Special Advisor has had a series of meetings with the two leaders during her visit to Cyprus in September to complete the terms of reference for restarting the Cyprus talks. Before leaving the island, Lute brought together President Mustafa Akıncı and Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades at an informal reception in the buffer zone.
Jane Holl Lute said after the reception that she had held serious and focused talks throughout the week and that both leaders had confirmed their determination to continue this process.
