Mayor of North Nicosia Mehmet Harmanci, has stated that a referendum will be held by Nicosia residents regarding the issue of using water transferred from Turkey, which will be administrated by a private Turkish company.
Harmanci, speaking during a meeting yesterday, said that the referendum will be held after the one-year transition period.
He also stated that the issue could be brought, again, in front of the municipal council, which has rejected the use of the water by the Lefkoşa municipality, if conditions change.
