During his visit to New York last week, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu met with the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
While discussing the stalled Cyprus negotiations, he said:
“I have told Secretary-General Ban that we need a ‘Ban Ki-moon Plan’ before the completion of his duty in order for the Cyprus problem to be solved”.
He added that the Greek Cypriots should return to the negotiating table and an international conference on Cyprus should be organised as soon as possible.
“Instead of unilateral actions and provocations on the issue of the natural resources in Cyprus, it would be more useful to negotiate at the table. We will do everything possible for a sustainable comprehensive peace”, he said.
