The well-known lawyer and personality Elicos Liatsos, died in his Kyrenia office, yesterday. He was 83.
Mr Liatsos was found in his office by his secretary. The emergency services announced that he was already dead on their arrival. He had been suffering from high blood pressure and heart problems.
He was a Maronite who remained in Kyrenia after 1974 His father was also a lawyer, as is his son. His office faces the Kyrenia Law Courts.
Mr Liatsos, a UK trained barrister, was well-known in the British community and was a popular choice of lawyer as he spoke English. In the past, British residents have used him to represent them in disputes over new-build housing.
