Welsh choir event at Bellapais is a sell-out

Bellapais Abbey and the Kybele restaurant hosted a very successful sell-out event on 4th April, in aid of the Tulips/Help Those with Cancer charity. The Cowbridge Male Voice Choir travelled from Wales to perform to a full house, raising 5,806 TL for the cancer charity. In fact, there was such demand for tickets that the organisers squeezed in extra seats to accommodate everyone, with around 335 people attending.

The choir gave a fantastic performance, covering classical Welsh choral pieces plus medleys from popular musicals and hits. The show was very well received by the audience, who kept them on stage far longer than they had anticipated.

The Cowbridge Male Voice Choir does a large amount of charitable work both in the UK and Abroad and agreed to perform at Bellapais for free so that all monies raised could go straight to the charity. Tulips/Help Those with Cancer is extremely grateful to the choir for such an entertaining and enjoyable evening and would welcome them back anytime to sing again. Tulips would like to thank Mehmet Sebep from Karkot Ltd, who provided refreshments free of charge during the interval  – a very generous gesture, and would also like to thank the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Environment and Culture, who attended the event in place of the Minister who was unfortunately away on business.

Tulips is a Turkish-Cypriot charity offering professional and caring support to those with cancer, providing information on treatment available both within and outside the TRNC, offering financial support wherever possible, raising awareness of cancer and striving to improve cancer care in North Cyprus. The charity is self-funding and without constant fund-raising it would cease to exist.
