A 49 year old woman attempted to commit suicide yesterday morning.
She climbed up to the fifth floor of a block of apartments in Famagusta and was eventually talked down by her ex-husband and sister.
She had entered the flats around 7am yesterday morning and walked up to the fifth floor.
From there she shouted out that the police were not listening to her. She claimed that she had proved the guilt of a man but that the police did not arrest him.
Police and the fire brigade were quickly on the scene but the woman refused to come down and demanded that the press be notified.
Eventually her relatives of managed to talk her down and she was taken to hospital.
