Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş, along with cabinet members, political party representatives, and numerous parliamentarians, will participate in the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Cyprus Peace Operation, Kibris Postasi reports.
According to reports from an AA correspondent, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) is gearing up for an impressive celebration to mark this significant milestone.
The festivities will include a range of events such as special concerts by military and janissary bands, sports competitions, conferences, seminars, symposiums, and essay contests.
Highlighting the celebrations, Turkey’s first aircraft carrier, TCG Anadolu, will be featured in a ceremony in the TRNC. The TCG Anadolu, along with several other ships, will take part in a grand parade.
Additionally, the Turkish Stars and SOLOTÜRK aerobatic teams are scheduled to perform on July 20.
State Officials in the TRNC
President Erdoğan, TBMM Speaker Kurtulmuş, cabinet members, political party representatives, and many MPs will be present in the TRNC for the celebrations. Kurtulmuş will be joined by members of the Presidency Council of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and Deputy Group Chairmen.
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, accompanied by 174 Cyprus Veterans, Central Executive Board members, and numerous MPs, will also attend the events. Prof. Dr. Ayşe Güneş Ayata, daughter of the former Minister of Foreign Affairs Turan Güneş, who coined the slogan “Ayşe should go on vacation” during the Cyprus Peace Operation, and former Minister of Labor Önder Sav, will be special guests.
Joining President Erdoğan will be MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, DSP Chairman Önder Aksakal, and BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici, all of whom will travel to the TRNC for this momentous occasion.
