The Residence Permit and Visa Regulations were approved by parliament yesterday with 29 votes in favour, There was one abstention and 20 MPs did not vote.
Minister of Labour Faiz Sucuoglu said that according to data received, the number of people entering the TRNC in 2012 was 14.96 per cent. This number has increased to 20.44 per cent in 2019.
“This is the first time that such a number is observed in the TRNC”, he stated, adding that this is the result of citizens of third countries who wanted to find a job in North Cyprus.
