High Number of Drivers Flouting Traffic Laws

Traffic Police

During routine traffic checks nationwide, 2,345 drivers were inspected, with 415 of them flagged for breaking traffic laws. A recent police statement revealed that 11 vehicles were prohibited from further road use, Yeniduzen reports.

Here’s a breakdown of the reported traffic violations:

187 cases of speeding

70 instances of disregarding traffic signals

58 incidents of using a mobile phone while driving

9 cases of driving without the required licence

7 incidents of driving under the influence of alcohol

3 cases of driving without a seat belt

Plus, there were 81 other assorted traffic offences.

It’s clear that there’s a need for increased awareness and adherence to traffic regulations to ensure safer roads for everyone.

Following the high death toll caused by traffic accidents this year, the government has formed a special road safety commission and is bringing in harsher penalties for causing death by reckless driving.
