Mayor of Kyrenia, Murat Şenkul, announced via his social media account that the promenade project in Kyrenia is nearing its final stages, Kibris Postasi reports.
Murat Şenkul shared that the ground paving has commenced, which will allow for much faster progress, and emphasised that the Atatürk bust will continue to occupy the most prominent spot in Kordonboyu Square.
In his statement, Mayor Murat Şenkul said:
“We have completed the time-consuming infrastructure work on our promenade project and have begun the ground paving phase, which will move much more quickly.
“As part of the Kordonboyu project, we are redesigning the roadbed in front of the Atatürk bust to create a new square for Kyrenia.
“To address the frequently asked question about the future of the Atatürk bust: it will undoubtedly remain in the most beautiful spot of Kordonboyu Square.
“Just between us, the Kordonboyu is turning out to be exceptionally beautiful”.
