Two people were injured in a traffic accident which occurred on the Yonca-Ercan main road on Thursday afternoon, Yeniduzen reported.
According to the Police Press Office, at around 2.30pm yesterday, Altuğ Öztürkcan (30), travelling from Yonca Junction towards Ercan, hit the vehicle in front driven by 27-year-old Derçin Akıncı,who was heading in the same direction. The impact caused his car to veer off the road and hit an embankment, while Altuğ Öztürkcan’s car struck the central barrier.
The injured drivers were taken to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia for treatment.
The police investigation into the accident is ongoing.
