According to Cyprus Mail, 42-year-old Theodoros Theofanous, was seen on the sea front in Limassol. Police arrested him on Sunday afternoon following a tip off by a member of the public.
Theofanous who was jailed in 2012 for the murder of his pregnant partner and her daughter in 2011, escaped custody while he was visiting relatives.
Following his escape, the South Cyprus police were on the alert for Theofanous, and police had launched extensive field search operations with helicopter and drone support, and four teams from the prison and Paphos police with trained dogs. The police had considered the possibility that he might try to cross the border into North Cyprus to evade capture.
