A construction worker who suffered severe injuries in an accident on a building site on October 10, has died, Yeniduzen reported.
Muhammad Waleed (27) was waiting to collect materials when he was hit on the head by a reinforcing bar being lowered by rope onto the ground. The bar slipped and hit the back of his head causing critical injuries.
Despite intensive medical treatment, Muhammad Waleed could not be saved and died on October 14th in the intensive care unit at Near East University Hospital. A postmortem will determine the official cause of death.
The incident occurred on Kubbeli Çeşme Street in Girne, where M.Y. (41) was working on the third floor of a building under construction and lowering reinforcement bars to the ground. He was arrested along with two other individuals, S.A. (51) and H.İ.Ç. (26), and the inquiry is continuing.
