A delegation from the Animal Producers and Breeders Association held a meeting with Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, Yeniduzen reports. Following the discussion, Association President Mustafa Naimoğulları and Üstel conducted a joint press conference. Naimoğulları, speaking first, mentioned that they had once again communicated their issues to Üstel, who plans to bring these matters before the Cabinet to discuss potential solutions. They are scheduled to meet again on Friday. Naimoğulları expressed satisfaction with Üstel’s remarks, stating, “Üstel’s comments have reassured us“
The prime minister assured that the proposals presented by the livestock producers would be included in their agenda and would be discussed in the Cabinet meeting the following day to determine feasible actions. Üstel added, “If there are things we cannot resolve, we will reconvene on Friday to discuss further with our team“.
In response to a question, Naimoğulları said, “The protest in front of the Prime Ministry has ended, but it continues at the Ministry of Agriculture. Hopefully, we will resolve this as well“.
During the meeting with the Prime Minister, the animal producers outlined their demands, including stopping meat imports after June 19, addressing issues related to milk, and revising milk prices. The protest is ongoing at the Ministry of Agriculture.
The Animal Producers and Breeders Association’s 10-day protest is now being shifted to the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources. Naimoğulları had announced earlier in the day that they decided to move their vehicles away from the front of the Prime Ministry and continue their protest at the Ministry of Agriculture.
