Aydin Denktaş (86), who was taken to Nicosia State Hospital suffering from pneumonia on Tuesday, was awakened yesterday evening. Doctors attempted to take her off the ventilator, however, she could not manage to breath unaided. It was decided that she should remain on the ventilator for at least another two days.
Mrs. Denktaş , who is the widow of the late founding President Rauf Denktas, although improved, remains in a serious condition, leader of the medical team Dr. Şükrü Onbaşı said.
