Dust in Atmosphere Warning

The atmosphere will become dusty at around 3pm today, the Met Office has warned.

Dust particles carried across from North Africa will cause air pollution in the region until May 24.

The public is advised to take precautions, in particular those who are sensitive to dust.

The Met Office weather forecast for May 16-22 is as follows:

The region will experience cool and relatively humid weather with a high-pressure system during the first half of the period. In the second half, the weather will turn hot and relatively humid with a low-pressure system.

Overall, the weather will be mostly clear with occasional clouds. During the first few days, temperatures will range from 29-32°C inland and 25-28°C on the coast. In the latter half, temperatures are expected to rise to 33-36°C inland and 29-32°C on the coast.

Winds will generally blow from the north and west, moderate to occasionally strong.
