Police have warned that counterfeit banknotes have been circulated in Nicosia and Kyrenia. The warning came after two people were arrested trying to pass off the fake banknotes while shopping.
The notes are 50 and 100TL denominations. Any 50TL notes with serial number A 625 255 062 and 100TL notes with serial number A 437 707 766 should be taken to your nearest police station.
The public and financial institutions are asked to be vigilant in this matter.
