A woman has been arrested for fleeing the scene of an accident where a pedestrian was injured, Yeniduzen reported.
The accident happened on August 14, when 41-year-old Münevver Gürlern, now identified as the driver who hit 20-year-old pedestrian Muhammed Abdullah on the Nicosia-Famagusta main road and then fled the scene. The police have announced that Gürler, who was driving a vehicle, has been arrested.
Shortly after midnight on August 14, as Gürler was driving towards Famagusta, she hit Muhammed Abdullah, who was walking on the side of the road in the same direction. Instead of stopping, Gürler drove away from the scene.
The injured pedestrian was taken to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia, where he received treatment and was later discharged.
