Long Queues for Shoppers Crossing the Borders

There were long queues for people attempting to cross the border on foot at the Lokmacı crossing and long tail-backs at the Metehan border crossing on Sunday.

In the run up to Christmas, shoppers faced long queues because of a lack of staff manning the crossings, it was reported.

There were long delays, particularly for motorists at the Metehan crossing, because although an extra lane had been installed, it remained closed as there were not enough staff to operate it.
