A pedestrian was injured after being hit by a car driven by a drunk driver in Alsancak, in the early hours of Sunday morning, Kibris Postasi reports.
The accident happened at 00.30 on Sunday morning in Alsancak when pedestrian Hakan Özçelik (49) was crossing the road in front of the Denizkızı Hotel and was hit by 21-year-old Sama Tarbıyat who was driving under the influence of alcohol.
The victim of the accident was taken to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia , where he was diagnosed with fractures in his left shoulder, hip, and leg. After receiving treatment, he was placed under observation.
The driver was arrested and a police investigation is ongoing.
