During police traffic inspections conducted nationwide yesterday, traffic teams checked 2,378 vehicle drivers. According to a statement from the Police Press Officer’s Office, 416 drivers were reported for various traffic offences, legal action was initiated against them, and 35 vehicles were banned from the roads, Yeniduzen reports.
The statement detailed the violations: 154 drivers were speeding, 20 were driving under the influence of alcohol, 1 driver was without a licence and insurance, 29 were using mobile phones while driving, 29 were not wearing seat belts, 12 were driving without a navigation licence, 2 were driving without insurance, and 1 driver failed to obey traffic lights.
