The route closed to traffic from the Metehan Roundabout to the Civil Defence Roundabout in Nicosia will be reopened tomorrow morning, Kibris Postasi reports.
This route will be open again on Friday morning. Meanwhile, the route from Civil Defence Roundabout to Metehan Roundabout will be closed to traffic due to new construction work.
The Nicosia Turkish Municipality (LTB) has issued a statement regarding the traffic flow between Metehan Roundabout and Civil Defence Roundabout, as part of the road and infrastructure development works at the Presidential and Assembly Campus.
The statement reads as follows:
“As part of the road and infrastructure development works at the Presidential and Assembly Campus, the route from Metehan Roundabout to the Ortaköy area (Civil Defence Roundabout) will be reopened on the morning of Friday, July 26. Due to project work, the dual carriageway from Ortaköy Civil Defence Roundabout to Metehan and Mehmet Akif Street (Dereboyu) will be closed to traffic from 7:00 AM on Friday, July 26 until Monday, August 26. Drivers heading from the Civil Defence Roundabout to Metehan and Mehmet Akif Street will be redirected to the opposite lane at the roundabout and can reach Metehan Roundabout via this route. For drivers travelling from Metehan Roundabout to Ortaköy Civil Defence Roundabout, this direction will remain open to vehicles and can be used as a single lane. Drivers are advised to pay attention to traffic warnings and guidance during the construction period“.
