The struggle for justice continues for the Champion Angels (Famagusta school children) and tour guides who lost their lives at the Adıyaman Isias Hotel, as well as for the families of the 10 people injured in the earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6 last year, Kibris Postasi reports.

The third hearing of the Isias Hotel case will be held on Wednesday, June 12, at 10 am at the Adıyaman 3rd High Criminal Court.

As with previous hearings, a delegation of approximately 100 people, including Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, families, and politicians, will travel to Adıyaman on Tuesday, June 11, to attend the hearing at the Adıyaman 3rd High Criminal Court.

The second hearing of the Isias Hotel case took place on April 26 at the Adıyaman 3rd High Criminal Court, where the main case file, which includes 72 deaths and 8 injuries, was combined with an additional file that includes 2 more injuries. After the first hearing, which lasted four days, the court made interim decisions during the single-day second hearing.

At the second hearing, the court ruled that the detained defendants Ahmet Bozkurt, Mehmet Fatih Bozkurt, and Erdem Yıldız would remain in custody, while 8 defendants would be tried without detention under judicial control. Additionally, the court requested a new expert report from a technical university other than Gazi University, if possible. The next hearing was scheduled for 10am on June 12.

Following the hearing, the court decided on May 14 to have the expert report regarding the Grand Isias Hotel re-prepared by 9 Eylül University.

Additionally, on May 28, the Adıyaman Governorship Provincial Administrative Board granted permission to investigate the public officials from the Adıyaman Municipality who had been removed from the Isias Hotel case file.
